As an industrial conurbation with over 134,000 companies, the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region has a growing high demand for skilled workers. The career prospects of their partners play an increasingly significant role in attracting and retaining specialists and executives. For this reason, Rhein-Neckar Metropolregion GmbH is making exerted efforts to support so-called dual career couples, and a specialised network is involved in establishing dual career opportunities at institutes of higher education, companies and other organisations in the region.

MRN GmbH runs and coordinates the MRN Dual Career Network as well as the MRN Dual Career working group. In doing so, it performs lobby work for supporting dual career couples in the economic, science, political and social sectors. Primarily, it encourages the sharing of experiences and provides the relevant information. MRN GmbH also prepares solutions and business models for institutions that are not able to offer their own advisory services. Finally, it advises companies and other establishments on the advantages of the dual career concept as a strategic recruitment instrument.
