Real estate market report

The real estate economy plays an important role in the successful development of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region (MRN). Anybody who professionally invests in real estate does not make decisions instinctively. An extremely detailed analysis of the macro and microlocations usually precedes a decision to move somewhere. However, a lack of information and knowledge is frequently the reason for misjudgements where the locations of real estate are concerned. That is why it is important to provide institutional investors with the requisite data and facts.

  • The real estate market report

Only a transparent market has the chance to appear on an investor's radar screen. The availability, quality and actuality of the relevant data have become a selection criterion, and consequently a competitive advantage for towns and regions.

The real estate market report, which has been published annually since 2006, emphasises this very point. Even if Mannheim, Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen stand in the foreground as main centres, the report consciously focuses on the entire MRN. Although relevant data for specific locations in the region has been available in the past, this market data is now presented for the first time side-by-side in its entirety in the MRN's real estate market report.

The report covers the most important segments of the commercial real estate market in three chapters: Offices, Retail trade and Commercial properties. It gives an overview of trends, key figures and major projects in the three leading market segments: Offices, Retail trade and Commercial properties. In addition to the main centres, a different medium-sized centre is highlighted each year. The latest property market report can be ordered under Publications; previous issues can be downloaded.

  • Rhine-Neckar location portal

The Rhine-Neckar location portal has been providing a fast overview of all the available commercial real estate locations in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region since 2002. The database currently contains more than 1,100 buildings and vacant properties.

This electronic platform serves investors as a central point of contact for seeking and offering commercial real estate free of charge. While the region's business sponsors continually update the Web site, the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association is responsible for the day-to-day operation and technical development.

  • Rhine-Neckar real estate dialogue

Promoting the flow of information among the market participants, exchanging contacts and sharing experiences – the Rhine-Neckar real estate dialogue has been pursuing this goal since 2004. On average, between 80 and 100 market participants meet up at the four conferences held each year, business sponsors, bankers, brokers, developers, architects, consultants and real estate owners.

The Rhine-Neckar real estate dialogue as a network in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region (MRN) has meanwhile established itself as the "Who's Who?" of the real estate economy. Almost two thirds of the participants are decision-makers from the most senior levels of management, and almost half of them come from outside of the region, predominantly from the heads of division in Frankfurt and Stuttgart.

The networking of the individual protagonists generates synergies which, in the end, benefit everyone. The organisers of the Rhine-Neckar real estate dialogue have taken up this ambitious goal. The organisers are MRN GmbH, the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association (VRRN), BIC Blum Immobilien Consulting GmbH and Treureal GmbH.

Experts respected throughout Germany provide information on topical trends and developments in the real estate economy at lectures and panel discussions. The venues are usually showcase projects around Mannheim, Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen.
