The "Economic, Employment Market and Social Monitoring" instrument (WIAS) is an information platform operated by Rhein-Neckar Metropolregion GmbH. Baseline data on the situation and development of the job market and related theme areas (economic data and social data) has been available at arbeitsmarktmonitoring-rhein-neckar.de since 2007. WIAS is designed to assist all kinds of different user groups in finding their way around the basic statistics for the regional job market.

  • Description

The WIAS system currently comprises around 135 indicators. Figures for 15 administrative districts and county boroughs belonging to the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, as well as national comparative values (Germany and West Germany), are shown for each indicator together with a total value for the region. Data on structures and distribution, for example population, employees, unemployed people or school qualifications, can be called up. All the data can be displayed in tables and printed.

The technical platform for WIAS is the spatial observation system operated by the Rhine-Neckar Regional Association (VRRN). The cartographical user interface of the spatial observation system makes it easy to correlate data and gain an overall impression.
