A turnover of 437 million euros, 7.2 million participants, 1,100 employees, 30 congress venues – trend rising: The conference sector is undoubtedly a significant regional branch of industry. For this reason, in 2008 seven major event organisers agreed on a strategic co-operation at the initiative of the MRN. Its medium-term aim is to attract more congresses and conferences to the region by means of targeted marketing and regional co-operation. To achieve this, the MRN Convention Bureau was set up as a neutral marketing platform in the same year. Meanwhile, it has trebled the number of its partners.

The central marketing instrument of the non-profit service office is the Web site www.convention-mrn.com. This provides information about branch partners and the diverse conference venues in the MRN, and also makes various service tools available to event planners, such as a speakers database or check lists. The MRN CB also appears several times a year, together with its partners, at international branch trade fairs such as the "IMEX" in Frankfurt at "Locations!".

A non-profit organisation, the MRN CB provides supports and advice on the planning of national and international conferences, congresses, trade fairs and incentives. It mediates individual and competent contacts with the aid of a network of renowned hotels, conference specialists and event organisers.

  • Contact partners and point of contact for queries and information regarding events
  • Capacity enquiries at network partners
  • Contact mediation and product information on partners and professional service providers from the areas of conferences, catering, the hotel trade, event systems and services
  • Recommendations for fringe events, excursions, regional places of interest, as well as ideas for incentives
